Advent Final Countdown

I talked to several friends to get feedback on what they're doing for Advent this year, and many were just planning on doing daily activities with their kids. I wanted to find a way to do fun activities...with a purpose!

What is Advent? Here's my favorite description:

This, to me, requires more of us as parents discipling our kids than just putting chocolates into pockets of a material tree. How do we help our kids celebrate Jesus and look forward to his coming? As a family we are reading through The Jesus Storybook Bible, looking at the stories in the old testament that lead up to Jesus' first coming. I also wanted to do something daily that helped Nora learn more about who God is and why it's so incredible that he came in the form of a man to save us! I made these cards to use each day of December to teach Nora a little bit about the character of God/person of Jesus. In case the holidays got away from anyone, here are 12 to use for the final days leading up to Christmas.

Try and make the activities and conversations that day about whatever is on the card. Cut them horizontally and put them in some kind of pocket organizer. Add a piece of candy for fun ;)
