Memorizing scripture is so valuable for young kids! I still remember the verses I memorized at Awana and in Sunday School! Especially the ones that were put to music. Here are the verses I started with Nora when she was 23 months. She has been able to memorize one verse each week. It's amazing what toddlers can do!
These have also helped tremendously with discipline. We are able to have conversations when I need to redirect her behavior, and recently she's actually been quoting it herself when we talk! The other day she said "children should obey their parents" ! Wow!
